Sept. 2008 – UNESCO Exhibition/Event
Welcoming the UNESCO delegation from Athens:
Preparations begin early morning at Evangelistra Monastery:
TIn the afternoon the Art Exhibition opens:
At sundown the evening celebrations begin:
With a church service to commemorate the birth of the Greek Flag (on Skiathos!):
Then the presentation of a beautiful oil painting by artist Yianna Xero, commissioned by the Monastery:
Followed by ceremonial speeches and awards for the artists; medals and certificates:
And a photo call:
Before the real party begins!
The following day at the Mayor’s official Buffet lunch at the Esperides Hotel:
And a farewell drink marked the end of the 3-day event:
